So yesterday I bought a laptop. I generously gave my giant screened imac to my mom, and she assisted in the purchase of the 13inch beauty i type on now. it's dainty. it travels and fits in my bag. its almost better than a puppy. i hope to carry it around often. But since briefcases and backpacks are unbecoming on me, I will be carrying it in a Marni tote. Which looks great, but is not the safest of containers for this machinery.

I have off today. what to do.. what to do.
here is my plan

1) get coffee, smoke cig.
2) go home.
3) watch gilmore girls (teehee)
4) drop off amazing pair of stella mccartney's at INA
5) do not buy anything.
6) do some sit ups
8) eat something
7) HMMMMMM

post-act

I almost never wear that plaid shirt. The neck line is too close to my actual neck for comfort, and I always feel like a cowboy when i wear the shirt. The ring is huge. And while it looks cool, it's a pain in the ass to wear, as it is always flipping down or threatening to slip off. So while it was a cheap purchase it was not necessarily a good one.

Recently I have procured a J.Crew wool school-boy coat. it almost sorta looks Balenciaga Fall 2007. Almost, but still smart looking. haha.

I also bought a blue rachel bilson/kirsten dunst hat. if you hold the had upside down, it looks like a bowl. and it acts like an opaque hair net. my mom thinks it makes me look homeless. Or like I shop at Salvation Army. Which I do, but this hat is Simply Vera by Vera Wang. I also bought a violet silk tunic with a hood from Kohl's from the Vera line, but I'm less and less excited about it. And it still cost as much as a See by Chloe top on sale. That plaid shirt, I may never wear it, but it serves as a good marker.

the first

Today I ate spicy garlic eggplant and rice for lunch. Considering spicy and garlic are in the title, the dish was pretty bland. Did not help that all I had to accompany it was white rice and water. I'll probably finish off the meal with a smooth minty Nat Sherman.

Lately I've been worried that my average of 3-4 cigs a day is killing my taste buds. Whenever a companion at dinner exclaims how salty something is, I nod in agreement as to not draw attention to my dull buds. Further proof that my tasting senses are slacking is that when I consume other spicy asian dishes that register at about a 4 on the spicy and a 5 on the salty scale, at a reasonable hour (8-9pm ish) followed by several glasses of water, I wake up with a botox face; my features frozen in place by the severe swelling of eye lids and cheeks.

Does the saying that if you quit smoking before the age of 26 (or 30 according to some) you gain 95% of your lung capacity back, hold true for tastebuds?

On a more fashionable note, I will be visiting the brand spanking new 3.1 phillip lim store today! for work!
